Message to the one there... met a nice girl and emailed for a bit, but haven't been back since... I was just a few million short.. ;)

That's too bad, too, because the one that opened here last year in SF had the biggest sales on opening day of any Hooters ever... Not sure how it's doing not though.

Upon receipt of your completed profiles, we will review your financial capabilities and experience. Please note that in order to be financially qualified, your financial statement(s) must show enough liquid capital to develop all the units in the region and all major (10% or more) investors will be required to sign the franchise agreement if a region is awarded to you. If you meet the initial qualifications, we will proceed with the next steps, which will be presentation of a Uniform Franchise Offering Circular and a personal meeting.

Thank you for your interest in Hooters franchising. At this time, the only available territories in the United States are as follows:
· Maine, Vermont,
· Montana, Oregon, Wyoming,
· Northern California*,
· Canada (Windsor and Newfoundland).

If you are interested in Hooters International franchising, the geographic availability is as follows:
· Chile, Peru, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Costa Rica.
· Austria, Benelux, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France*, Germany*, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy*, Northern England, Norway, Poland, Scandinavia, Switzerland, South Africa.
· Australia*, Guam, Japan*, Korea, Philippines.

All other areas are either sold to franchisees or are corporately owned. These areas will continue to develop, but no sub-franchising or selling off of restaurants is available.
The basics:
· Hooters of America, Inc. franchises primarily development territories, not single store franchises.
· Each territory consists of 3 - 5 restaurants.
· Franchise fee of $75,000 for each location.
· Must have a minimum of $2 million in liquid assets.
· Operating Partner must have a minimum 5 years experience in a full service multi-unit environment.
· The restaurant should have 150,000 – 250,000 people within a five-mile radius.
· All of the requirements must be met for the application to be considered.

HOOTERS® FRANCHISING


Hooters of America, Inc., as a franchisor, is currently accepting applications for single stores and franchise regions throughout the world. If a region is decided upon, each region should be large enough to accommodate three to six Hooters locations. Our guideline is one restaurant per 250,000 population. Cities with less than 150,000 population will not normally be considered. The exact area of each region will be negotiated based on our mutual interests. The development schedule for a region of five restaurants will be:

Franchisees are responsible for site selection (see attached criteria), but our approval of location and construction drawings is required.

Hooters of America, Inc. will train up to four (4) managers per franchise location. Our twelve (12) week Management Training Program is conducted in an Atlanta Flagship Training Restaurant. This program consists of on-the-job training, testing, project assignments, and review sessions. One (1) of these weeks will be spent in classroom training at Hooters University which is held in Atlanta, Georgia.

When the first restaurant location is ready to open, a training coordinator as well as training team will be provided to train your hourly employees at your restaurant. Training consists of an orientation, classroom training, testing, and “live” role-plays. Hooters of America, Inc. will pay for the training coordinator’s entire expense, as well as the salaries of the training team. The franchisee is expected to pay for the training team’s travel, hotel, per diem, and transportation expenses. A “Jumpstart Team” is also required from opening day through the first ten (10) days. The franchisee will pay these salaries as their employees, plus all of the expenses. For the second and additional location openings, Hooters of America, Inc. will provide the training coordinator at no charge and the franchisee will utilize their own experienced employees as trainers and jumpstarters.

Hooters University is offered monthly in Atlanta. This company’s training department also offers other development and certification classes for managers and hourly employees. Franchisees are always invited to participate at no charge except for travel and expenses.

Applicants that do not have adequate restaurant management experience will be required to hire a Director of Operations. Those candidates should have a minimum of five (5) years experience in a multi-unit full service environment.


*Franchisee will be allowed one 30 day extension (per location) for a fee of US$5,000.

REAL ESTATE
Franchisees may purchase or lease the land and building for a Hooters Restaurant. Typical locations are free-standing, located in suburban areas and contain 4,000 to 5,000 square feet. The cost to lease or purchase real estate will depend on factors such as size, condition, construction and location of the proposed site and upon the terms available for the purchase or lease of the proposed site.

BEER & WINE LICENSE
The amount necessary to obtain a beer and wine license varies greatly depending upon the licensing authority involved. Cost can range from $2,000 to $400,000.

FINANCING
The Franchisor does not presently make, nor envision making in the future, any arrangements or provisions for financing in connection with the sale of a franchise, directly or indirectly, between itself, its agents or affiliates and the Franchisee.

*All amounts shown are in U.S. Dollars, based on U.S costs.
**Additional stores may be optioned by paying a $10,000 deposit.
